Bowsher High School was the first Urban Ohio school to receive the Purple Star award from the Ohio Department of Education. The school is dedicated to ensuring students of military families receive any additional support they may need. The school also recognizes past Bowsher graduates who are veterans and holds an annual Veterans Day, Military Signing Day, and Memorial Day program.
